This park is being constructed in Sazova District. The park has an area of nearly 400.000 square meters and is the biggest park of Eskisehir. There are restaurants, an open air concert amphitheatre of 2000 person capacity, a big pond where various water sports and activities can be done, a life sized pirate ship, play groups composed fairy tale characters, a playground where children can do various water activities, a playground for disabled children, a science center accomodating a planetarium and a fairy tale castle.
The transportation within the park area will be provided by special trains.
The construction of the Science Arts and Culture Park is still continuing. When it is put into service in the near future, Eskisehir will have attained an important social life area in similar scales to those in big cities abroad enjoying vast opportunities.
The Firsts in the Science Arts and Culture Park
:: Pirate Ship
A lifeside copy of the Santa Maria Ship with which Columbus discovered America is constructed in the pond within the park area. The ship, which is constructed in actual sizes from its cannons to its dorms, deckhouse and deck will especially draw the attention of children.
:: Science Center
The Science Center Project is one of the most important structures of the Science Arts and Culture Park, which is one of the firsts in Eskisehir. The Center will provide opportunities for children of primary and secondary education to undertake scientific experiments in real environments. The planetarium, being constructed within the structure of the Science Center will be one of the most frequented locations of Eskisehir children and grown-ups, where the sky and the magical atmosphere of the space can be watched.
:: Fairy Tale Castle
The Fairy Tale Castle being constructed in the park area will make contribution to the development of the imagination of children. The Fairy Tale Castle, which is a first in Turkey, will be furnished with objects of fairy tale world.
:: Play Groups
Several play grounds, decorated with cute characters and fairy tale heroes, are constructed in various parts of the park. There are also playgrounds put into the service of disabled children. Moreover special mechanism which provide opportunities for children to experiment with the buoyancy of water and its cyclical movement are constructed.
BIG PARK: THE ABANDONED GRAVEYARD IS TURNED TO BIG PARK
The abandoned graveyard on Gazi Yakup Satar Street, emptied by previous administrations, is turned into a huge park full of trees and greenery, including walking and resting areas, children playgrounds, sculptures, and big sized ponds.
Before the plantation stage, the automatical illumination and watering system infrastructures are established and then thousands of trees and decorative plants are planted in this area. There are two ponds of 1200 and 900 squaremeters and a big decorative pool of waterfalls type in the park area, that is put into service under the name of Big Park. Moreover, a representative seat of Yunus Emre, one the prominent historical values of Eskisehir, is constructed in the park.
The Big Park added richness to the surrounding districts, especially Şarhöyük District and Eskisehir attained a huge park area similar to those in modern cities.
The Pond Park, the construction of which is continuing, spreads over an area of about 85.000 square meters between the Ring Road Police Academy Crossroad and the Uluönder and Raykent districts.
There will be a pond of 10.000 squaremeters, an island in the pond, children playground, sport areas, multi-purpose areas and food & beverage units in the Park, the pond of which is already excavated, the infrastructure works are completed and plantation works are started.
KENT PARK: THE PROJECT THAT FULFİLLS ESKISEHIRS LONGING FOR SEA
The Kent Park, one of the big park projects of Prof.Dr Yılmaz Büyükerşen, accomodates many innovations that are far beyond the ordinary green area and park concepts and is constructed on an area of 300.000 square meters between the Eskisehir Inter Cities Bus Terminal and Gökmeydan District.
There are two open swimming pools, an indoor semi-olympic swimming pool, playgrounds, a city house, restaurants, pond, horse riding areas, buffets and an artificial beach where citizens who not able to go to the seaside during summer can enjoy a sea experience here in Kent Park, the lungs of the City. The park has a bank to Porsuk River and can be reached by boats used in Porsuk.
Kent Park is one of the most important social life areas in Eskisehir with its rose gardens, sports areas, sculptures and monuments, open air areas for culture and arts activities and entertainment and resting areas.
Turkey’s first artificial beach in the City of Firsts, Eskisehir
On a preserved area on the Porsuk river bank in Kent Park, Turkey’s first artificial beach is created. The beach will provide an opportunity to enjoy a sea experience for citizens, who are not able to go to the seaside during summer months. The beach has a length of 350 meters and accomodates two swimming pools, one of which is designed especially for children.
